Using the Site

How do I get started?

Sign up. Register your household and create profiles for your pets. Add pictures, videos and answer questions about your pets. Connect to your pets buddies. Create and join groups.

How do I post as my pet?

To switch between pets (or back to the household), use the profile switcher, on the right-hand side of the screen. The active profile is the one with the orange circle. To change profiles, just select the profile you want to be active. You will be automatically taken to that profile’s activity page.

How do I find a pet buddy?

You can search for a pet buddy by doing one of the following:

  • Enter the name of the pet, human, or human’s email address into the search box
  • Choose Advanced Search and enter additional search options
  • Click on Find Buddies and search through the list

How do I post an update for my pet?

  • Select the pet on the profile switcher
  • Go to pet’s wall or activity stream
  • Enter a comment or update. You can also post a photo or video or put in a hyperlink to an article
  • Select Post Update

How do I post a photo?

  • Select the photo icon on your wall, on your buddy’s wall, or in the wall of one of your groups. A dialog box will appear.
  • Browse your computer, mobile phone, or tablet for the photo. Select the photo.
  • Enter a comment (this is required, but you can just enter a space if you don’t want to be verbose)
  • Select Post Update.

The photo will appear on your wall and in your Media Gallery.

The following file types can be uploaded: jpg, jpeg, png, and gif. The maximum file size is 5 MB.

How do I post a video?

Upload the video to YouTube. Go back to MeowWoofChirp and select the profile of the pet who is the owner of the video. Select the Video icon on the pet’s wall. Enter the link to the video and a caption. Press Post Update. The video will then play on MeowWoofChirp and be shared with your pet’s buddies.

MeowWoofChirp will allow you to upload videos to YouTube directly soon.

What are the photo requirements for profile pictures?

To change your profile picture, make sure the profile is active. Select Profile, then Edit Profile Picture. Select Choose File and browse your hard drive to select the picture.

The following file types can be uploaded: jpg, jpeg, png, and gif. The maximum file size is 5 MB.

How do I tag a pet or human in a post?

You can tag a pet or human by adding in the user name preceded by the @ sign. You can see the user name by going to the profile page. The user name is located underneath the name. For example, you can tag meowwoofchirp, by adding in @meowwoofchirp to your post.

How do I connect to my buddies?

Pets are the only ones with buddies on MeowWoofChirp. Make the pet’s profile active. Use the search function to find buddies or go to Find Buddies and search through the list. Once you find your pet’s buddy, click on “Add Friend”. The buddy will receive a buddy request. Once it is accepted you will be notified.

Can I connect to a Household rather than a specific pet?

Households cannot connect to pets. Please email us if this is a feature of interest. A household can follow a pet, if the pet’s privacy settings allow it.

I don’t have any pets but I want to follow my friend’s pets. Can I?

Yes, a household or pet can follow another pet – as long as the pet’s privacy settings allow it.

How do I find and join a group for my pet?

Select the profile of the pet then select Groups. Search for the name of the group in the search bar or look for the name of the Group in the list. If you are unable to find the group you are looking for, the owner of the group can also send you an invite.

How do I create a group?

Select the profile of the pet then select Groups. Select Create Group. You can invite others to join the group, set privacy restrictions, and more.

Can a household create or join a group?

Yes, a household can create and join groups. Click on Groups in either create a group or to find one to join.

How do I invite others to join MeowWoofChirp?

  • Click on Send Invites.
  • Enter in the email addresses of your buddies who you want to invite. You can invite up to 10 people at a time.
  • You can also invite them to join a group when you send the invite to join the community.
  • Select send Invites

I gave my pet to a friend, relative, or someone else. Can I transfer my pet’s information to them?

Unfortunately no. Your former pet’s new human will need to setup his or her own profile for the pet under his or her own household. You can then delete the pet from your household.


Mobile Access

How do I add a shortcut to MeowWoofChirp on my iOS Phone or Tablet?

  1. Open Safari on your phone or tablet and type in www.meowwoofchirp.com
  2. Tap on the Share button at the bottom of the screen (the button in the middle)
  3. Select Add to Home Screen
  4. Be sure the website name says MeowWoofChirp
  5. Tap the Add button in the upper right-hand corner

How do I add a shortcut to MeowWoofChirp on my Android Phone?

  1. Open your Internet browser on your phone and navigate to www.meowwoofchirp.com
  2. Press the menu button on your phone and click on “Add bookmark.”
  3. The Name, Address and Folder location details of the bookmark appear. Enter MeowWoofChirp as the default name (if that’s not already there). Select Save.
  4. You are returned to the website. To access the bookmark, tap and hold on the bookmark icon on the top right.
  5. A list of your bookmarks appear. Scroll to the bookmarked website, and press and hold on the bookmark.
  6. A list of options appear; select “Add shortcut to home.”
  7. The bookmark has now been added to the home screen.

Managing my Account

Can I change the email address associated with my account?

You can update your email addresses on your Settings page.

How do I change my password?

Passwords can be changed in your Settings page. If you do not remember your password, you can also reset from the login page as long as you can access the email associated with your account.

I don’t want anyone following me or my pet. What can I do?

You can disable the ability for anyone to Follow you or your pet. This must be done for a household or pet individually. To do this, choose the pet then choose Edit Profile. Under Follow Privacy, select the box to disable the ability for people to follow your pet.

How do I change my privacy settings?

Go to Edit Settings. You can change the privacy settings for each individual item. Privacy settings are set for a pet and household separately.

How do I delete a pet?

Choose your pet’s profile. Go to the Settings page. Here you can update the status of your pet. Deleting your pet’s profile will completely remove their information, including photos, videos, and status updates from the site. It cannot be retrieved once it is completed. You can also choose to hide the pet rather than delete it.

How do I delete a household profile?

Choose your household profile. Go to your Settings page. Deleting the household profile will also delete all pet profiles associated with the account. This includes all photos, videos, and status updates.

I registered for the site but I never received an activation email. What do I do?

Contact us at info@meowwoofchirp.com with your username and email address.  We can resend you the activation link.

How do I report inappropriate things (pornography, threats, cruelty to animals)?

Email us at abuse@meowwoofchirp.com with a description of the problem and the name and username of the person/pet who posted it.

How do I give MeowWoofChirp feedback?

I am using Internet Explorer and I am having trouble staying logged in. What should I do?

First, make sure cookies are enabled. Second, make sure you have the latest version. Older versions of Internet Explorer are not compatible with some of the technologies we are using. We recommend the following browsers:

  • Google Chrome
  • Firefox
  • Safari
  • Internet Explorer version 11 and above
